Adult Social Care Conference December 2018 PDF 193 KB Purpose
To summarise the key outputs and messages from the Adult Social Care Conference held in December 2018.
Recommendation:

Andy Biddle, Assistant Director for Adult Services introduced the report and in response to questions from Councillor Winnington, he and Innes Richens, Chief of Health & Care, Portsmouth clarified the following points:
Great strides had been made in developing a shared culture and bringing both Adult Social Care and NHS staff together.
System 1 had just been launched for Adult Social Care; it is an IT system that is shared by health partners.
Councillor George Fielding observed that it is encouraging that the learning from the event is being used to help focus on key areas.

Medically fit for discharge (MFFD) are patients who no longer need acute care in hospital and are waiting to leave.
(Councillor Luke Stubbs joined the meeting).
There has been a downward trend in MFFDs for both Portsmouth and Hampshire.
Discussions have started between Portsmouth City Council and NHS partners in Portsmouth and South East Hampshire to identify the elements of funding over the winter period that could be maintained.
