Purpose. To update the cabinet member on the decisions made by Hampshire County Council (HCC) regarding: i) The introduction of cross border charging at Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) and ii) Updates to the Permit system
RECOMMENDED that the Cabinet Member: 1. Approves that Portsmouth residents will not need to register to use the Port Solent HWRC. 2. Notes that Portsmouth residents will need to register their vehicles to be able to use other Hampshire HWRCs without charge. 3. Delegates authority to the director of Housing, Neighbourhoods and Building services to develop a free permit scheme for Portsmouth residents wishing to use a van or trailer to use at the HWRC. 4. Notes that Portsmouth residents will need to register and pay for a permit if they want to access any of the other Hampshire HWRC sites using a van or a trailer. Additional documents:
