Minutes:

(TAKE IN REPORT)

Claire Upton-Brown, Assistant Director for Culture and City Development, introduced the report.  She explained that at the PRED meeting on 13 July 2016, it had been agreed that the Victoria Park Action Plan would be incorporated into the draft Public Realm Strategy and the intention had been to arrange for public consultation to take place on the draft Public Realm Strategy (incorporating the Victoria Park Action Plan).

Since then, it had become apparent that the draft Public Realm Strategy would not come forward to Cabinet to seek approval to carry out public consultation as quickly as had been anticipated.  Given the level of public interest in the Victoria Park Action Plan, the Assistant Director for Culture and City Development now considered it appropriate to recommend that public consultation on the Victoria Park Action Plan is brought forward for public consultation in advance of the draft Public Realm Strategy for a six week period from 3 October 2016 to 11 November 2016.

She explained that as the implications following the consultation were likely to affect a number of portfolios, the outcome of the consultation would be reported back to full Cabinet rather than to this portfolio.

Councillor Dowling and Galloway were in agreement with the recommendation in the report.

DECISION:

That the Leader of the Council with responsibilities for Planning Regeneration and Economic Development approved the Victoria Park Action Plan for six-week public consultation starting on 3 October 2016.
