Private Hire Vehicles in bus lanes trial - review update
Purpose of Report
The purpose of this report is to provide an update on the current trail permitting private hire vehicles (PHVs) to utilise five bus lanes as approved at the meeting of the Traffic & Transportation Cabinet Member on 5 July 2022, and its subsequent implementation on 14 November 2022.
The report details the current status of this trial and the data collected.
Liam Norman, Project Manager, presented his information only report and advised the purpose of the report was to provide an update on the current trial permitting private hire vehicles (PHVs) to utilise five bus lanes as approved at the meeting of the Traffic and Transportation Cabinet Member on 5 July 2022, and its subsequent implementation on 14 November 2022. It also detailed the current status of the trial and the data collected.
The Chair noted how thorough the trial had been with plenty of base line evidence to start with. She thanked all the officers for the work that had been put into the trial.

As the meeting was her last as Cabinet Member for Traffic and Transportation, Councillor Stagg thanked all the Traffic and Transportation officers for their hard work during her time as Cabinet Member and their work during really difficult circumstances on many occasions. She also thanked Tristan Samuels for the backing and support he had provided the team and wished him good luck as he would be leaving the service the following month.
