Purpose.

To seek approval from the cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing & Social Care to extend the section 75 agreement for Continuing Healthcare for a further term of 3 years until 31 August 2021.

 

RECOMMENDED that the Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing & Social Care:

Delegate authority to the Chief of Health, Wellbeing & Social Care Services in consultation with the Chief of Finance Officer and City Solicitor to approve the entering into of extension arrangements for the two S75 agreements for Continuing Healthcare:

·         Provision of Health and Social Care Services.

·         Commissioning of Health and Social Care Services.

Suzannah Rosenberg, Director of Quality & Commissioning, Integrated Commissioning introduced the report and in response to questions explained that:

 

The council's integrated arrangements that had been put in place earlier than many authorities, are considered to be quite forward-thinking and successful.

 

Having an integrated healthcare team at the hospital has a very positive affect on flow and discharge times.

 

The Cabinet Member noted that the Opposition Spokespersons had been given the opportunity to look at the report and that the council is working very well with its healthcare partners.

The Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing & Social Care:
