Minutes of the previous meeting - 12 December 2014

RECOMMENDED that the minutes of the previous meeting held on 12 December 2014 be approved and signed by the chair as a correct record.

RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting of the Housing and Social Care Scrutiny Panel meeting held on 12 December 2014 be agreed as a correct record, and signed by the chair.

4.

New topic for review - Support services for living in isolation

The draft scoping document will follow.

Minutes:

The panel discussed the scoping document, the proposed objectives and the list of possible witnesses. Following discussions the panel agreed to define the focus of the review to young people aged 16-25.

 

The panel would also be keen to hear from the Young Persons Support Team, First Wessex (The Foyer and All Saints Hostel), Young Carers Association, Off The Record, Pastoral Angels, Connections, Motiv8, Probation Service and Help in Bereavement.

 

Members agreed that the Cabinet Members for Health and Social Care and Children and Education are notified of the review and, where appropriate, asked about additional witnesses who could assist.

 

RESOLVED that the scoping document for the review be approved, with the addition of the suggested witnesses as listed above, and this would be subject to review during the review period.

5.

Dates for future meetings

The panel will discuss dates and timings for future meetings to receive evidence on their new review.

Minutes:

Following discussions the panel agreed to hold regular meetings on Friday mornings at 9.30am, with 3-4 witnesses being asked to attend in person or to submit written evidence.
